So what are books by Carly Kade about anyway? Well ... I love writing love stories about horses, horse shows, western pleasure and a handsome cowboy (or two)! Beverly Cleary once said, “If you don’t see the book you want on the shelves, write it.” I think I’ve read everything in existence about horses, cowboys and romance. However, I couldn’t find a horse book series written about the western pleasure discipline. I wanted to read a love story themed around the type of horse shows I like to compete in. This short video sums up the lifestyle that I write books about ... Spring is right around the corner! This year forget spring cleaning (for a while anyway) and start thinking spring training for you and your horse! Even when you can’t get outside to ride because it’s still too chilly, there’s time to squeeze in a horse training chapter (or two) during the last days of winter … think a waiting room, your lunch break or a mere 15 minutes before bed. But, before you can start on a late winter reading adventure, you’ve got to have a solid reading list … right? Get ready to dust off that tack and shed those winter blues with some mental prep guaranteed to have you seeing show pen blue when the weather turns warm again! Here are some sweet reading recommendations that’ll give you a leg up on the competition this year.
These 5 book recommendations, selected from the Goodreads Popular Horse Training Books list, should keep you turning plenty of pages … I always look forward to this time of year because of the Grammys. It takes me back to the days when I talked music all day long as a Marketing Representative in New York City for one of the biggest music distribution companies in the world. Through the years, I went on to work as an Artist Development Representative for Sony Music Entertainment and then Universal Music. In the music industry, February is a celebrated season. It's the time when artists (and their record labels) see the fruits of efforts on the albums they released the previous year. The awards season is always electrifying and I love to make my predictions on who will snag the coveted golden trophies ... So every year, I watch the Grammys to root for the albums I couldn’t stop listening to and make my predictions on which ones would become the top albums of the year.
