My creativity gets a little lift from coffee! I love drinking coffee from fun, horsey mugs while writing the sequel to In The Reins. So to celebrate the words caffeine helps me cultivate here's a cowgirlious tribute to my favorite coffee cups accompanied by some spur jingling quotes about my favorite caffeinated beverage. Long live coffee. YEEHAW! It's Not the Horse I Love ... It's the Whip! LOL."I never laugh until I've had my coffee." - Clark Gable
I love hearing from readers! Recently, I received a super fun, spur jingling message. This particular reader LOVES JD. Her message to me said, "Cowboy Casanova by Carrie Underwood totally describes how I picture JD!!! I just heard it on the radio and boom! Mental picture of him and McKennon!" I think she totally nailed JD McCall’s theme song on the head! It got me thinking about what a playlist for a bull riding heartthrob with swagger might sound like so I went ahead and made one! But, you'll have to meet JD McCall in this short but sweet intro video (just in case you haven't) before you tune in to his songs! My spurs are jingling! I so enjoyed being interviewed for the Equus - Equine Related Education, Vocations and Travel "Profile On" series! This blog by Christine Meunier is designed to aid others in developing an equine career. Want to work with horses? Christine's blog is an excellent resource! It showcases horse-related careers that have been explored, horse courses offered around the world and profiles of those working at making a living related to horses. Thanks for spotlighting me, Christine!

Having made two cross-country road trips with her beloved horse in tow, Carly knew when she arrived in Arizona that Scottsdale, "The West's Most Western Town," was the perfect place to release her debut novel. Since its Arizona launch at the end of 2015, In The Reins, a cowboy romance novel inspired by the equestrian lifestyle, has steadily climbed the charts to rave reviews. The book has been an equestrian best seller on Amazon for more than 10 weeks. “I started thinking about the book concept in New York, actually began writing it in Michigan, finished the manuscript in Texas, and then made the final edits and published the novel here in Arizona,” said Carly Kade, author of In The Reins. “It just felt right to debut my book in Scottsdale where the West and horses are so deeply embedded in the culture. Arizona is a horse lover’s paradise, and I finally feel like I am home.”
