Can't stop smiling right now! I had my VERY first author interview this week and the resulting review of #InTheReins just gave me chills! Here's my favorite quote: “I found well developed characters, superbly written details about the scenery, and a story line that kept moving and kept me entertained.” My spurs are so jingling over this! Did you know that reader reviews make a difference? A review only takes a minute and it means so much to the authors that you love! In this post's tutorial video, I'll show you how to review a book on Amazon (even if you didn't buy the book on Amazon). Before we dive into that good stuff though here's 5 things you might not know about authors and why it's so helpful for readers to leave reviews of their books ... If a book has 50 reviews, Amazon will list a book in its newsletters and feature it in other promotions like "Also Bought" which helps readers (just like you) find new books and authors to love.
This weekend, I was proud to be a sponsor of the Blue Ribbon Horse Shows Color Spectacular at Westworld in Scottsdale, AZ! I had so much fun autographing the 25 copies of In The Reins that were presented as prizes during the horse show! Click "Read More" to view the highlight reel from the spur jingling festivities!
I’ve found that when something seems scary it’s usually the path I need to take. If I had one piece of advice to offer writers on getting a book written I would have to steal a page from Nike’s playbook and say “Just Do It!” I sometimes wonder if I'll have anything to say when I sit down to my morning writing sessions but then I JUST DO IT and the words magically come. If your heart tells you to write then you must write! Don’t be afraid. Live your dream of being an author every day. Fall in love with your book because no one can write the way you do! You are unique! Wake up excited to write! What we think we become ... trust your creativity. This is what I think before I start to write …
You've probably guessed by now that I have a thing for Scott Eastwood who worked with the Professional Bull Riders while filming The Longest Ride. The PBR Built Ford Tough Tour is coming to my neck of the woods (I can't wait!) which inspired me to put together this fun little post featuring my favorite bull riding cowboy. So here's 8 GIFs about him from his starring role in The Longest Ride guaranteed to transport you to cowboy heaven!
1. Scott Eastwood is delicious cowboy eye candy
Scott Eastwood is cowboy perfection in this romantic drama based on Nicholas Sparks' bestselling book. The story centers on a young couple who make a fateful connection that changes their lives forever. Eastwood is pure cowboy eye candy in this role!
