When I was getting ready to publish my first horse book, In the Reins, I was in search of the right photographer who could capture the perfect author photo for the "About the Author" pages in my novels. It was very important to me to work with a local photographer who knew horses as well as the Arizona landscape. Every author needs a good bio photo, and I knew that mine had to include my horse, Sissy, because she was the inspiration for the lead horse in my horse book series. After some research, I contacted Melanie Elise Photography to schedule a photo session. And the rest is history!
In this twentieth Equestrian Author Spotlight, I talk with fellow equine author and cowgirl, Carole T. Beers. Of course, we discuss the best topics on earth — writing, books and horses! Your spurs will jingle over Carole's advice for fellow authors, and you'll learn why she loves being an author and a horse owner. Happy reading!
It's true the book you write is the one that changes your life! As we gallop into the New Year, I am taking a moment to celebrate the outcomes of my labor of love! Reflecting back, 2017 was such an amazing year, and I wanted to share some of the cowgirlious highlights of my author journey in one place.
Happy New Year! I couldn't think of a better way to ring in 2018 than by partnering with the Arizona Paint Horse Club for the second year in a row at their Copper Country Paint-O-Rama. Horse shows just like this one (hosted at the fabulous Westworld in Scottsdale, Arizona) always find their way into the pages of my horse books so I made this fun little video while I was at the show. I wanted readers to have a glimpse of my horse world.
