Beverly Cleary once said, “If you don’t see the book you want on the shelves, write it.” I think I’ve read everything in existence about horses, cowboys and romance. However, I couldn’t find a cowboy romance written about the western pleasure discipline. I wanted to read a love story themed around the type of horse shows I enjoyed competing in. I‘d always dreamed of being an author so I decided to heed Beverly Cleary’s advice and take a stab at writing the book that I wanted to see on the shelf. I worked for years putting my thoughts to paper. There were many highs and lows in the process, insecurities and doubts, but mustering the courage to continually move forward in pursuit of this dream of mine is what makes me most proud. There has been a very real magic coursing through all the people that have come together around this project. Friends, family, acquaintances, perfect strangers, colleagues were so kind when I shared my dream of being a published author with them. These lovely humans then proceeded to open doors that I couldn't even see were there. I am overflowing with gratitude for all the passionate people who have come on this journey with me. When dreamers band together and support each other anything is possible. So I must extend a special thank you to the following dreamers who were a part of In The Reins becoming a reality … Thank you to Michelle Smith (a.k.a The Shift Starter) – When I met self-awareness strategist, Michelle, she had just finished her book, The Invisible Chameleon, generously shared her publishing insights with me and then introduced me to my future editor! Thank you to Ann Luu - My editor and future publishing house stronghold. She made In The Reins better and became an irreplaceable friend in the process. Thank you to Melanie of Melanie Elise Photography, an Arizona local and equine enthusiast. She was as committed to getting the right shot for my author photo as I was. Thank you to Chris Brooks from Weebly Zen for helping me build a beautiful website. Thank you to Amanda Lamb, the pipes behind the book trailer, who is currently bringing the audio book version of In the Reins to life. She is a voice over goddess! In The Reins is the cowboy romance novel I wanted to see on the shelf! What a journey it has been. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it! I appreciate everyone who has already bought a copy or helped spread the word on In The Reins. It is these tiny beautiful gestures that help a dream get the kick start it needs. Thank you for giving mine its chance ;) Please support a dreamer and purchase your copy from Amazon or Barnes & Noble, like my Carly Kade Creative FB page, or simply leave a little review.
This is just the beginning! I have more books featuring the characters from In The Reins bucking up a storm in my mind and starting to take shape on paper! It’s going to be a great ride and I hope you continue it with me. I appreciate your readership! Sincerely, Carly
