In the interview, you'll learn what she thinks makes a book stand out, and how she researches her topics. Happy reading. About Equine Author Catherine Louise BirminghamA passionate lover of horses since a young child, Catherine always knew what she wanted to do with her life. The surprising addition of being able to write easily was the unexpected path ahead that has Catherine now with two books and numerous published articles. Born in Melbourne, Australia Catherine speaks three languages and has traveled the world to work with horses since the age of 19. Her writing has been translated from Danish to Indonesian and on the launch to accessing many other corners of the world. Let's saddle up for Catherine's author interview! Do you prefer eBooks or physical copies? Why? The touch of your hands on a book, is for me, the same connection to what a writer once poured from their soul while writing the book with pen to paper, it can be then felt in your own hands while reading the book. You feel the tree, the earth, the ink and the author when you hold a physical book in your hands. What is your Favorite motivational quote? ‘We only teach that in which we ourselves need to learn.’ It brings humility to the teacher and strength to the student. We are all learning in the end and that empowers us to not judge ourselves or others and keep working towards our dreams. However many they may be. Why do you write? Because it is what my Soul has felt the most peaceful, easy and clear in doing. Writing was never something I ever felt I had to concentrate on doing. Words always just flowed from my hands and that is why I write. Not because I have to, nor even want to but because I feel blocked, stuck and clogged up if I don’t. How did you research your novel? After over 10 years of teaching, living and understanding the principles within it, through my own life’s problems and years of riding and training horses myself. I had been asked by enough people to write the book that eventually during a quiet winter, I sat down and over 2 weeks I poured Ride for Life onto paper by hand. It was originally three times the length but it was slowly, over one year, edited into the detailed little book that it now is. What do you think makes your book (or any book) stand out from the crowd? Writing from the heart. We all have a message or a gift to share with this world and when we are true to that we attract the readers that are needing, wanting or going to use that message. It all comes from the heart, whether fiction or non-fiction, the message or the story is written from your Soul and that is where its power lies. Always from the heart. Is there a message in your books that you hope readers will grasp?Yes! That your life is unique, important, and necessary and it can be understood and changed with your input and choice. Riding provides us with the tools and ways to do exactly that.
