What to Wear to the Festival
The whole event is pretty cowgirl casual. Jeans and boots mostly. Some people do get a little more snazzy for the VIP evening and the WINNIE Awards ceremony. For example, I was wearing a nice collared shirt, suit jacket, dark jeans, and my red cowgirl boots to the awards ceremony. A dress would do, too. It’s certainly not black tie. Really it’s all about what makes you feel good and comfortable. Below is a little video of what I wore to my first WINNIE Awards.
How Many Books to Bring to the Event
It is always difficult to know how many books to bring to an event. I tend to bring at least 25 copies of each book to events. I may bring more to the EQUUS Film Festival this year because we will be in the middle of horse country! I can't guarantee that you'll sell all the books that you decide to bring, but I think it's always better to have more than not enough!
Video: The 2019 Literary Corral Entries
Here's to HORSE BOOKS! This year the EQUUS Film Festival will broaden its Literary Corral and focus on expanding the reach of the literary entries with a bright spotlight on equine authors as part of the event. Get to know this year's equine authors in the video below courtesy of the EQUUS Film Festival.
Media Opportunities
The EQUUS Film & Arts Fest is available on-demand. It will also be on HORSE NETWORK. Gary Holt with Equestrian Legacy Radio and Wayne Williams from Speaking Of Horses will be conducting interviews on site for their shows. Horse Illustrated magazine will have a representative there, too.
You never know who will conduct interviews! The EQUUS Film Festival has press come in from out of the country as well as several podcast interview opportunities.
Calling all American Horse Publications Members! There will be an AHP Gathering at this year's EQUUS Film Festival on Saturday, December 7th from noon to 2 pm. Meet us in the Pop-Up Gallery/Literary Corral in the International Museum of the Horse at the Kentucky Horse Park.
An AHP Regional Gathering is an informal meet up of current AHP members, their staff, and prospective members including equine-related publishers, media professionals, and businesses. Future equine media and journalists are especially encouraged!

I made a little tribute video from my first spur jingling journey at the event. I invite you to go behind the scenes of the EQUUS Film Festival with me. My cowboy helped me shoot footage as I attended the four day equestrian extravaganza! We filmed it all - beginning with the VIP Gala and culminating at the equine equivalent of the Oscars called the WINNIE Awards. Happy Viewing!
