I LOVE music! I just can't write without it. I repeated these 5 country music songs over and over while working on In the Reins. These songs (and their videos) will make a lady's toes curl in her cowgirl boots. They certainly made my spurs jingle and helped fuel my imagination as I developed McKennon and Devon's story. Don't delay! Say "Howdy Cowboy" to these country tunes and get ready to make your spurs happy too! 1. Sangria - Blake SheltonDefinitely a spur jingler! This song gets the top spot because the video is straight up HOT! 2. Jason Aldean - Burnin' It DownFavorite line ... "You stirrin' up dirty in the back of my mind." Howdy cowboy! 3. Canaan Smith - Love You Like ThatThe words of this song are lyrical perfection! McKennon would be this suave. 4. Kip Moore - Dirt RoadA sultry video about a country boy getting lost with his cowgirl on a long and winding dirt road. Cowboy, I'm in! 5. Kenny Chesney - Come OverA musician wearing a hot black cowboy hat, on a yacht that'll strum a guitar and play you a country tune ... And, he's begging you to come over? Um .. yes please! If you enjoyed the music featured in this blog post be sure to gallop on over to my YouTube channel and visit the unofficial soundtrack to McKennon and Devon's story. The songs compiled in the "Songs that Inspired In The Reins" playlist were my close companions while writing In The Reins. Enjoy!
