Playlists make my spurs jingle! I make music playlists for each book I write. My love stories are written while listening to music—all types of music. Some times it’s classical, sometimes it’s a movie soundtrack, other days it’s jazz or classic rock, and a lot of the time it was country while I was writing Beyond Eight Seconds. From ‘Girl Like You’ by Jason Aldean to ‘You Should Probably Leave" by Chris Stapleton, I repeated these particular songs over and over while working on the fourth book in the In the Reins series. Here are the songs I think would definitely make a solid soundtrack while you are reading the book. Happy listening! About Beyond Eight SecondsBeyond Eight Seconds is the newest adventure in the In the Reins series, includes all of Green Briar’s herd members, and continues the love stories found in In the Reins, Cowboy Away, and Show Pen Promise. A lot can happen in eight seconds. Book Four follows handsome bull riding heartthrob JD McCall. He lives his life fast and focused on exactly what’s in front of him: the next woman, the next drink, the next eight seconds on a rank bull. JD scoffs at the idea of love—where’s the fun in that? But, when the National Bull Rider tour leads JD to the big city, he saddles up with Everly Mitchell—a tall, gorgeous, feisty redhead. He figures it’s only polite to show the city gal the ropes of being with a cowboy. After all, isn’t that what a Southern gentleman is supposed to do? JD's world is turned inside out when Ev ends up dealing him an even faster lifestyle than his own, full of lights, cameras, and plenty of action. Now on Ev’s concrete turf, JD realizes a simple bull rider is no match for a savvy businesswoman.
