Are you a fan of romance movies about cowboys? If the answer is YES, then get ready to saddle up and tune in to the soundtrack songs to my cowboy love story! Let's giddy up 'cause here we go! I love to write my cowboy love stories while listening to music … all kinds of music! What I listen to depends on my mood. Some days it’s classical, sometimes it’s a movie soundtrack, other days it’s pop, jazz or classic rock, and a lot of the time it was country when I was writing the sequel to In The Reins. Cowboy McKennon Kelly on the BIG Screen?AND I love to watch cowboy romance movies, too! I sometimes fantasize that my cowboy romance novels, In The Reins and Cowboy Away, might become cowboy romance movies one day. Sigh ... wouldn't it be dreamy to see Cowboy McKennon Kelly steaming up the BIG screen? All this romance writing, movie watching and silver screen daydreaming got me thinking about what the soundtrack to Cowboy Away might sound like if it was made into a cowboy love movie, so I went ahead and made my own soundtrack! Now Playing: Songs that Inspired Cowboy AwayFrom ‘Space Cowboy’ by Kacey Musgraves to ‘The Cowboy in Me" by Tim McGraw, I repeated these songs over and over while working on Cowboy Away. Here are the 12 songs that I think would definitely make solid choices for a soundtrack to the In the Reins sequel. Happy listening! 1. 'Space Cowboy' by Kacey MusgravesCould "Space Cowboy" by Kacey Musgraves be the theme song to Cowboy Away? I think it's pretty darn perfect. What do you think? Thanks to Amanda Lamb (the voice to the In the Reins Audiobook) for sharing this amazing song with me. I love my readers! You can have your space, cowboy I ain't gonna fence you in Go on ride away, in your Silverado Guess I'll see you 'round again 2. 'The Cowboy in Me' by Tim McGrawThe urge to run, the restlessness The heart of stone I sometimes get The things I've done for foolish pride The me that's never satisfied The face that's in the mirror when I don't like what I see I guess that's just the cowboy in me 3. 'Hard to Love' by Lee BriceI'm hard to love, hard to love, Oh I don't make it easy, I couldn't do it if I stood where you stood I'm hard to love, hard to love, You say that you need me, I don't deserve it but I love that you love me good 4. 'Someone Else' by LanyLet it go, I just can't forget about her How do you know, if you can really be sure? But I can't move on, I'm sorry that I loved her first She's the only one, she's the only one, I want 5. 'Shame on the Moon' by Bob SegerUntil you've been beside a man You don't know what he wants You don't know if he cries at night You don't know if he don't When nothin comes easy Old nightmares are real Until you' ve been beside a man You don't know how he feels 6. 'Whiskey And You' by Chris StapletonThere’s a bottle on the dresser by your ring And it’s empty so right now I don’t feel a thing And I’ll be hurting when I wake up on the floor But I’ll be over it by noon That’s the difference between whiskey and you Come tomorrow, I can walk in any store It ain’t a problem, they’ll always sell me more But your forgiveness Well, that’s something I can’t buy There ain’t a thing that I can do That’s the difference between whiskey and you 7. 'Desperation' by Miranda LambertThrow a dog a bone, I'll take it if I have to Go real fast like there's somewhere we can get to What's the use of standing right there on the edge if there ain't nowhere to fall? What's the use of hangin' on tight to the phone if nobody might call? Desperation There's danger in frustration Complicated words slippin' off of your tongue and ain't one of them the truth I'm still desperate for you 8.
